A long weekend in Dublin to see the Waterboys and to soak up some Irish culture.....
Photography isn't permitted in Dublin art galleries, so my little pocket-sized camera had to snap the architecture instead. Here are some pics of the wonderful staircase in the Irish Museum of Modern Art, and the rotunda ceiling in the National Museum. The photography exhibition in the Modern Art Museum really blew my socks off - it's so worth a visit - the photos range from a Man Ray to an image made from melted chocolate, which is amazing.
The Dublin City Gallery in Parnell Square, is probably my favourite arty place in the whole of Dublin. The artwork there is modern, includes a few Bacons, (including his whole studio) Sculleys and Henrys, and the entry is free. The building is beautiful, and while we were there a harp and cello concert was performed.... mmmm.....I love looking at art listening to music....
